JaM & Tea

The meme over at Jody's place for JaM this week is

"I got to thinking...
where do you drink your tea,
have you got a favourite tea pot or maybe a china tea cup
and are you lucky like me and have favourite person to drink it with?"

Our tea of the moment, and has been for a while now, is Nerada Organic Green Tea & Lemon Myrtle. I know it's in dunking bags, but the whole product is organic so I really have no qualms about throwing them into our little Bokashi bucket.
Then, my fav mug/cup for tea and also coffee at the mo, is this fabulous thermal mug that I bought myself for my birthday last year.
Doesn't hold too much or too little for me.

This is my favourite tea set (actually my only one!), vintage, which is made up of  2 trios that my lovely friend Chris from Countin Crows gave me as a birthday gift, and 3 slightly mismatched cups and saucers that I acquired from Joolz and found myself. They all have Westminster China Australia on them. Except for the little green one that feels a bit thicker, but still just as lovely.
When I can, I love to sit at this old bamboo table that belonged to my grandmother, looking out over the trees in the back yard, listening to the birds and sounds of nature.
I love the shabby state of this favourite table. Sometimes though I do wonder if I shouldn't try to preserve it in some way, as in paint the top and seal the bamboo legs.
Or just leave it in it's gorgeous vintage state and just enjoy it for as long as I or it lives!
Oh well, a conundrum for another day!  :)

and this is my favourite 'green tea with real green tea leaves' teapot and cups that DH bought me as a gift a few years ago. I really enjoy sitting down to a cup of green tea using this set. I feel a little bit authentic(?).

So....where do you drink your tea,
have you got a favourite tea pot or maybe a china tea cup
and are you lucky like me and have favourite person to drink it with?
Join in the fun here.

We had a kettle; we let it leak: Our not repairing it made it worse. We haven't had any tea for a week... The bottom is out of the Universe. ~  Rudyard Kipling

I couldn't choose between two quotes this time, so here's the other as well!!

Strange how a teapot can represent at the same time the comforts of solitude and the pleasures of company.  ~  Unknown

  1. Great sayings - I too would feel like the bottom had fallen out of my Universe if I couldn't have my morning cuppa in my favourite cup.

Your pretty vintage tea set sits perfectly with your Grans table and as long as it's not too wobbly I'd be leaving it as is - why fix what's not broke!

Thanks for joining in again this week Pam!

  2. Nice Pam, love your various cups and pot. Please don't upset the table by giving it a freshen up. let it age gracefully. x

  3. Love the post, tea cups, and quotes, Pam. No wonder you couldn't decide on just one...lol... As for your grandmother's table, maybe you should sit and enjoy another cup of tea or three before you decide :) Happy crafting, Jenny

  4. Like you Pam, I too love teas - especially green tea with orange and jasmine. That's my "wake-me-up" in the am. I just use a tea pod in a cup - the tea is strong enough that I can have 2 more 12oz cups from the same tea bag (less the caffine). I used to be a coffee drinker when I was younger, but had to stop drinking it because of a stomach problem - so I switched to tea. I drink my tea on my favorite chair beneath the "wall of fame" in my living room while doing devotions each morning.

  6. Hi Pam, where would be without tea? I love nothing more than to sit down with a piping hot cuppa tea in my fav bumble bee tea cup and read a book in my reading nook - located in the corner of my craft room overlooking my flower garden.
Heres one of my favourite tea sayings

'There is no trouble so great or grave that cannot be much diminished by a nice cup of tea.'
    ~Bernard-Paul Heroux

  7. Hey Pam, I really like your tea sets and I love your grandmother's table. I'd love to have tea there too. I'm drinking a cup of tea right now. I really enjoy Twining's English Breakfast tea. You should link up with Tea Cup Tuesday over at Artful Affirmations. If you don't know Terri I know you would like her. She is a teacher and she has lots of free video tutorial on her blog.
