Well things are certainly kicking up a notch.....or ten around here in Sunny(???) Queensland! There seems to be no end to the rain, and now much of the state has been declared a disaster zone. and it definitely looks like a disaster in many places.
We've been very lucky here in our little place in the south-east corner.....just lots of rain and lots of water flowing through the back yard. No floooding under the house and we have all fingers and toes crossed while we touch all the wood we can find! Of course we have a house full of cats with cabin fever! Poor wee babies..
But I'm feeling for others that have not been so lucky. Brisbane(our state's capital) is now preparing for flood waters washing down from everywhere into the Brisbane River, and it's bound to be very unpleasant when it hits.

Toowoomba was hit by a wave of flood water that they are calling a Tsunami. Whether it was or not, I'll just bet the residents are feeling that it was! There have even been deaths with this one, sadly.

ON A HAPPIER NOTE! :))
I have received another good sized order and it's been busy, busy here as I make up 20 chenille potholders for a shop that is opening up in NSW at the end of the month! Woohoo!
The shop is called HandMad Emporium at Crescent Head, so if you're near there and fancy a look...... I don't have a link for her though.
She fell in love with my pineapple and apple potholders, and as you can see I have the happy little elf employed once again in helping me with the cutting out of said potholders!
Mind you, there are some of us that weren't too interested in helping out!! Hurrumph....
Just thought I'd throw in this pic of some lovely pink toile that I found at the op shop last week, and thought I'd make a couple of pinkeeps from it. I've drawn out the shapes for the boot and the sweet little bird, as you can see, but that's as far as it's gone. :)
All for now! Keep dry and happy. xoxo

Pam, How terrible about the flooding. Mother Nature can be a beast at times. Good for you on your big order again. So glad to see you have help. I'm going to get my elf to show me how to use the soldering tool in the near future. I like your pink toile, I have blue that I had in my fabric stash for years and I just pulled it out two days ago. It's sitting here waiting for me to think of what I want to make. Be safe and stay dry!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to know you are safe , stay dry !

We watch for more news every day. It is all impossible to believe - so much devastation and lives lost. And only last year - the terrible fires in the south.
ReplyDeleteThe news on BBC says the waters are receding. I hope this is the end of the rains.
Totally loved the shot of your helper! Made my day!
