Yay! My apron for the Great Apron Swap has arrived and I'm loving it!
It's just my colour.
My partner was Nynke from The Dutch Purple Rabbit and there was a problem with the post office her end in Holland, but everything turned out ok in the end.
She wrapped it in this piece of lovely yellow fabric and included an "Hello" note that she had handpainted herself! That's it you can see peeking out with the yellow flowers on it.
Pretty yes!!??
She has embroidered with pink and yellow threads and added buttons and beads, and she tells me that she made the yellow and green braiding, along the waistband, herself. It's a woven braid trim. How clever is that?
(For some reason with this new template my photos won't enlarge so I hope you can see the braid properly!)
and I can even wear it reversed if I want. Nynke has lined the seam allowances on the other side and handstitched the two little Snoopys on as well!
Two for one! Love it! Thanks so much Nynke. You've been a fabulous partner.
and thanks also to Sarah from Red Gingham for holding the swap. Great job Sarah! :))
This is the one I made for her(not a good pic sorry) and she wouldn't open it until I got mine from her! Isn't she a darling? I would have ripped it open as soon as I got it......which I did!
Hope you like it Nynke.
Beautiful!
