Gllrrrggghhhh!!!

I've managed to pick up a cold bug from somewhere and I'm feeling rather gllrrrggghhhh. lol. Not happy I can tell you, cos I very rarely get these things! Blahhh!!!!
But there have been some nice little shiny spots throughout the weekend.

Like these sooo yummy Anzac cookies that I made on Saturday, before I succumbed. So yummy in fact that they haven't lasted too long. The dh and I have just fanged the last one between us. Can you hear that sound of smacking lips? :)
Don't you also love the cup and plate set in the pic? A good friend of mine, Chris, sent two sets for my birthday in March. They're oh so pretty. They match in so well with the three cups and saucers that I showed on a much earlier post that I had bought from Joolz though these are much smaller, sort of Esspresso size. Just love that I now have a collection of these beautiful cups and plates. Uh oh.....another collection!!? ;))

Also had to put up a pic of these eggs, cos some of them are blue! They're so pretty but this pic really doesn't show the true shade of blue.

I had eggs for breakfast yesterday but forgot to take a pic of it. I wanted to show how, amazingly, the yolk is not really any smaller than the ones in the bigger eggs in the box, but the whole egg is probably half the size.
I got them from my cousin who has chookies on her acreage, but now I can't remember which chooks actually laid these little gems.
I also used them in the ice cream I made on Saturday too, but cos I'm under the weather, I haven't quite finished all the half freezing and whipping that goes into making it. When I have, I'll try to remember to take a photo.
As an aside to this, I found what sounds like a very easy ice cream recipe on a blog I'm following, and I thought I would give it a try next time. It only uses cream, no eggs and sounds rather tasty. I found it on Not Quite Nigella here. Not sure I'd use quite so much sugar, and definitely not icing sugar. Probably Rapadura, which will give a beigey colour to it.
But hey, don't think my taste buds would mind!! :)
Ok, that's it from me for now. Might go crawl under the sheets again! Although I think I'm feeling a tad better this morning, I might actually go see if our local health store is open and get some foul tasting herbs. They usually do the trick.
Ciao for now. :)

  6. Aracauna chickens lay colored, pastel eggs.
As to the cold...if you can get it, take Sambucol. It builds the immune system and the cold won't last as long.
